Personal Development Curriculum

RESPECT Skills

The core of our Personal Development work at Leeming centres around our ‘RESPECT’ skills. Click on the image to find out more.

These skills are built into our curriculum, our language and our daily practice throughout the school. The priority given to these skills derives from our military context, and our conviction that, whilst academic achievement is vitally important, our children require far more from their education than a set of grades or the acquisition of facts. For service pupils in particular, the transferrable skills listed above are really the ones that will unlock future success, both in learning and in life, and will allow them to meet the challenges they face.

In addition to the embedded way that these qualities are taught (and, indeed, assessed) through the year, we also provide specific opportunities within our Personal Development curriculum for children to demonstrate and hone these skills, and to grow in their character. Some examples of these are found below. Please use the menu on the left or click each image to find out more (please note, these embedded links can take a moment to load).
